Hardware Retailing Magazine - Featuring Joe Franquinha

Right before the busy holiday season, I left for a trip to meet with fellow business owners and industry professionals at the NRHA State of Independence Conference in Chicago.

Since Crest Hardware has been a staple in Williamsburg and continues to grow throughout our 50+ years in business, I was invited to give a presentation highlighting the strengths that have allowed us to serve the community for so many years. It was truly a wonderful experience being able to share our philosophy with others within our industry.

I believe that we have built something special through service, community and the loyalty & trust we’ve been able to develop with our customers.

Thanks to everyone who came to the conference and NRHA for inviting me to speak.

Here’s a short write-up from this months Hardware Retailing Magazine featuring a shot from my presentation:

Crest Hardware was recommended by a few inspiring ladies in the NYC area, so Passerbuys decided to swing by and check out what all the fuss was about!

Secret Stash

If for some reason you need to hide your liquor, then this book is for you!

It's entitled 'Chemistry 101: Liquor', but it only contains one page.. the rest of the space it taken by a stainless steel flask of which you can fill with your favorite beverage.

You can also just take the flask with you and hide other valuables inside the book's secret compartment.

All-Weather Notepads for Outdoors!

Rather not risk damaging your phone to write an address or phone number in the rain? Rite in the Rain offers notebooks and writing instruments for outdoor work and activities.

These notepads can withstand being submerged and drenched in liquid, while still holding perfectly legible writings and notes. You can even use them directly in the rain... They're 100% waterproof!

Personally, I use these awesome little notepads for tracking my sites during backpacking trips in the Catskills. Many times I've been caught in horrible storms and needed to jot down my distance or name of the next destination without taking out my phone and risking the damage.
It's always a good idea to carry a small pen and paper with you when you venture outdoors, so better to have ones that are built to
last!

Crest (True Value) Hardware & Urban Garden Center is pleased to host an installation of paintings uniquely suited towards its trade.

The artist, Rachel Lussier, explores the age-old relationship between man and tools with her series of nearly 100 paintings of everyday useful objects designed for the hand. Lussier celebrates hardware stores as a place of intention, industry and community. She drew her inspiration from Lakeview (True Value) Hardware in Battle Creek, MI where the series was painted largely from life and on location.

Lussier, who currently resides in Connecticut, earned a BFA from Parsons School of Design (Communication Design) and has studied extensively at The National Academy of Design, The Art Students League, The New York Academy and The New York Studio School. Lussier worked in the field of graphic design for many years including as Senior Art Director for Sotheby’s before committing herself fully to making fine art. Lussier has exhibited in New York City, Colorado, Connecticut and Michigan.

Crest (True Value) Hardware & Urban Garden Center will host the collection from February 4th – March 4th before the series moves on to other exhibition venues on the East Coast.

Crest Arts works extensively with the community to support local artists and craftsmen by hosting events and providing platforms for artists to showcase their work.
